空间设计概论
This course provides an introductory level of spatial design covering basic skills of 3-dimensional drawings, model making and the visual representation related to the services covered under the Creative Industries. They will learn how to describe the projects based on design elements and principle of organization such as line, form, space, scale, proportion, culture and human perception of space. They will develop their visual communication styles through hand drawing and computer tools.

Consumer psychology attempts to answer the questions of how, why, when and where do people buy or, not buy products. Consumer psychology studies individuals and group characteristics regarding how they satisfy their wants and needs. This involves examining demography, economic and social status and the effects of the environment and how it influences buyer decisions. Consumer psychology examines factors related to how a customer determines value; it attempts to measure the effects of advertising and marketing with the ultimate goal of influencing or predicting a customer’s decision.

These various modes will offer students the chance to practice composition styles both individually and collaboratively, as well as develop genre-specific knowledges regarding their technical features and conventions. In addition to in-class critiques and peer-review, students will be given the chance to practice and perform for an audience on a regular basis, from which their speech and presentation skills will also be improved.

Students will be expected to read works from both Chinese and Western literary traditions. Readings will be organized around either thematic topics such as literary journeys, death, and romantic love or literary genres such as lyric poetry, Bildungsroman, and ghost stories. Chinese texts will be read in English translations and problems of translation will be addressed when necessary. Students’ performance will be measured through class discussions, group presentations, writing assignments, and a final exam.
