Creative Writing for Performance 创意写作与表演

English Language and Literature Studies · DHSS · Major Elective Courses · 3 Units

Course Descriptions

This course will develop creative writing skills and creative aptitude by allowing students to explore and experiment with different genres of writing, within the larger context of performance. The course will cover several types of performance-oriented writing, such as spoken-word and slam poetry, script-writing for stage and radio, and screenwriting. These various modes will offer students the chance to practice composition styles both individually and collaboratively, as well as develop genre-specific knowledges regarding their technical features and conventions. In addition to in-class critiques and peer-review, students will be given the chance to practice and perform for an audience on a regular basis, from which their speech and presentation skills will also be improved.
