Course Descriptions

Negotiations are a particular kind of social interactions that are explicitly designed to determine which parties get their interests and goals. Negotiations are necessary whenever you cannot attain your goals without the cooperation of others. This course is an introduction to the knowledge of the negotiation skills and techniques. This course will focus on the theoretical arguments of negotiation techniques, using rational choice theory, game theory, and decision-making models to analyse the critical components during negotiation. The purpose of this course is to look into the methodological underpinnings of such a negotiation approach, and to introduce the students to its applications in various fields in social science.
