Course Descriptions

This course provides students with a comprehensive knowledge of the services and practice of residential care. Students will examine the basic principles and characteristics of residential care; and the effects of residential care on both the residents and staff. The roles and functions of social workers in residential settings will be discussed this course will devote to the study of the process and tasks of residential care. The concepts of therapeutic community and community care versus long-term residential care will be analysed.
