This course aims to: develop an awareness of the complexities of contemporary communication, which is achieved not only through language but through a variety of modes, such as image, sound, posture, gaze, gesture, movement, etc.; and equip students with the analytical tools and skills to study how meanings are constructed through multiple modes.
