Course Descriptions

This course will require students to read, analyse, and perform dramatic works in English. The course will provide an overview of the history of Western drama by examining significant works from the Ancient Greeks via the Renaissance and Victorian eras, up to the contemporary period. It will explore theories and styles of drama and place the specific readings in their social, political, and theoretical contexts. At the same time, it will introduce basic creative processes associated with the production and performance of plays.
