The aims and objectives of this course are: 1) to examine Hollywood as a reference point for all cinemas globally and historically; 2) to explore a set of conventions and practices developed in Hollywood cinema; 3) to study the Hollywood formula and certain important moments in Hollywood cinema and how they relate to American history.
