Course Descriptions
This course provides an introduction to biodiversity conservation and its implementation. In addition to in-depth discussion of ecological theories which play central roles in understanding the threats to biodiversity and the conservation of biological populations, species and communities, case studies will be used to draw attention towards the interplay of socio-economic, political, and cultural factors in threatening and conserving biodiversity. The roles of NGOs, government agencies and the private sector will also be discussed in detail.
