This course aims to encourage students to appreciate the vast diversity of microorganism. The course provides a general understanding on the nomenclature and taxonomy of microorganisms, as well as their cell structures and functions. The course also provides examples on the applications of microorganisms in our everyday life with emphasis on their applications in environmental science.
